Steph McGovern is BBC Breakfast's business presenter, presenting from Salford throughout the week.

Steph joined Breakfast towards the end of 2011, replacing Simon Jack, who moved to the Today programme. She had previously worked as a financial reporter for BBC Radio Five Live, where she often stood in as the presenter of the Wake Up to Money programme. Prior to taking up that role in 2010, Steph had worked as a business presenter on Chris Evan's Drivetime show on Radio Two.

Steph began her career behind the scenes, as a researcher in the current affairs department. She then moved on to become the producer for the Today programme's finance segments, before becoming the lead producer of business news across BBC One's news bulletins, where she had a central role in covering the economic crisis and subsequent recession.

Ben Thompson is the BBC News channel's Business presenter. He also fills in for Steph on BBC Breakfast.

Ben joined the BBC in 1999, working as a Broadcast Journalist for BBC Radio Wales. He moved to London in 2003, working as a producer across BBC World, BBC Breakfast and BBC News. He then spent three years as the BBC's Middle East Business correspondent, based in Dubai, from where he often presented Middle East Business Report on BBC World. In 2011 he returned to the UK as a business presenter for the BBC News channel.

In 2012 he took on the additional role of weekend business correspondent, reporting across the BBC's news outlets. This was followed by a short stint in New York during the US Presedential Election, where he covered both business and wider news stories, before returning to the UK for the BBC's move to New Broadcasting House, where he became the channel's sole business presenter following the abolishment of regular business updates.


Declan presents Your Money, a dedicated personal finance programme shown at 10:30am on Saturdays on the BBC News channel.

Declan also presents the a similar programme, entitled 'On the Money' each weekend for BBC Radio Five Live, as well as appearing on the stations Drive programme.

Declan joined the BBC in 1994, after a stint with London radio station LBC, initially working primarily for BBC Radio. He was a business presenter on the news channel from it's launch in 1997, presenting regular updates throughout the morning. He became well known as the business presenter for BBC Breakfast, often being sent on the road to report for the programme. In 2008 he became the presenter of BBC Two's Working Lunch programme, appearing alongside Naga Munchetty, up until the programme's cancellation, when he took on his current role.
